Beicip-Franlab, an IFP Group company and geoscience software editor, needed to modernize its aging InterWell seismic inversion application. The old interface was difficult for users, hard to maintain, and limited Beicip-Franlab’s ability to add new advanced inversion and modeling capabilities, so the company looked for a seismic data visualization platform to speed development and reduce costs.

INT Software provided the INTViewer platform and its Java-based plugin API to rebuild InterWell as a modular, modern application with tools for data management, seismic QC, wavelet estimation, model creation, and inversion. The project was completed on time, and InterWell 2012 launched as an integrated plugin suite with improved usability and productivity; Beicip-Franlab also estimated it saved about nine man-years of development effort by reusing INTViewer’s data access and GUI components.
