School City of Mishawaka saves up to $25,000 with Instructure

School City of Mishawaka, a K-12 school district in Indiana, faced the challenge of measuring the return on investment for its educational technology purchases. Previously limited to anecdotal teacher feedback and uniformly positive vendor reports, the district needed an objective, third-party solution to analyze edtech spending, usage, and achievement data. They turned to the vendor Instructure and its LearnPlatform with the IMPACT™ rapid-cycle evaluation engine.

Instructure's solution provided the infrastructure for the district to run pilots and conduct Outcomes and Cost Analyses on two edtech products. The data revealed that a more expensive product had a much lower, sometimes negative, effect on student outcomes. This analysis gave the district full confidence to reject the costly product, a decision that saved an estimated $25,000. Instructure's platform now provides the data needed for confident purchasing decisions and offers teachers a centralized library for available tools.
