Idaho State University scales workforce learning for 13,000+ enrollments with Instructure

Idaho State University (ISU) faced a challenge with its former LMS, which could not support the scale and specific needs of its over 13,000 workforce-training enrollments and 38,000+ K–12 professional development learners. The university needed a solution better suited for non-traditional, skills-first education that could handle accreditation and Pell eligibility requirements. Instructure implemented Canvas Career, a reimagined LMS designed for workforce learning. The solution provided ISU with the ability to support open enrollment, verify both seat time and specific skills, and offer a skills-first design for learners.
