Focus Learning Trust - Customer Case Study

Focus Learning Trust, part of the OneSchool global network, serves 10,000 students across 26 schools in 18 countries and set out in 2016 to move rapidly from low‑tech to high‑tech, pedagogically driven learning. To power self‑directed, collaborative 21st‑century learning and provide on‑demand feedback, the Trust selected Instructure’s Canvas VLE (with Zoom for video conferencing) as the core platform.

Instructure implemented Canvas alongside a focused rollout strategy—training, digital mastery coaches, and school‑level advocates—to create virtual staff rooms, classrooms and curriculum offices and drive adoption. The result: consistent, structured courses across sites, faster assessment workflows via SpeedGrader, and scalable curriculum sharing that reduced duplication (now one national curriculum lead per subject instead of one per school); Focus is also moving to master Canvas course blueprints to further standardize and streamline learning.
