Creating learning experiences for the mobile generation

The Pragmatic Group, an Australian vocational education provider with four academies, needed a modern, mobile-friendly LMS to replace a legacy system that functioned mainly as a PDF repository and logged fewer than 5% of students. In 2013 they selected Canvas from Instructure for its ease of use, mobile support and ability to deliver engaging, practical learning experiences to industry-ready students.

Instructure implemented Canvas across all Pragmatic Group programs, enabling mobile participation, rich media content, online assessments and SpeedGrader for efficient feedback. As a result, all 1,370 students now use Canvas, more than 85% learn via iPads, and increased evening/weekend self-study and faster grading have freed trainers to focus on course design; Pragmatic Group is also integrating other systems with Canvas via the Instructure API.
