Creating a Roadmap for Future Leaders

General Electric needed a scalable way to strengthen its Accelerated Leadership Program (XLP) so high-potential mid-career leaders retained learning, received timely feedback, and built sustained capability without the cost and disruption of frequent in-person seminars. To address these challenges GE partnered with Instructure and adopted the Practice platform to scale experiential, social learning across a global cohort of roughly 250–400 participants spanning nine functions.

Instructure’s Practice was used to deliver contextual exercises, peer and executive feedback, and virtual coaching that reinforced key concepts and encouraged “learning by doing” (a method shown to retain ~65% of content versus 10–32% for passive formats). The solution reduced reliance on costly in-person kick‑offs, increased continuous engagement across functions, improved confidence and capability among XLP participants, and broadened adoption of the program — demonstrating measurable improvements in retention, behavior change, and program scalability for General Electric.
