CAP implements Canvas in three weeks after faculty demand access

Auburn University’s Certification for Aquaculture Professionals (CAP) program was hampered by an outdated Blackboard WebCT system that made grading biweekly exams for about 250 students across multiple time zones unmanageable. Faced with growing frustration from instructors and an urgent need to expand globally, Auburn selected Instructure’s Canvas LMS and committed to a rapid implementation with just three weeks before the semester began.

Instructure worked with Auburn to migrate and customize Canvas in that three‑week rollout—uploading 30 GB of content, configuring online testing, forums and custom logins, and beginning Spanish translations—so faculty could build quizzes from banks, grade promptly, and reengage students with timely feedback. The swift Instructure deployment boosted instructor and student satisfaction, supported CAP’s international growth, and led to broader adoption of Canvas across Auburn University.
