The Swedish video streaming provider faced a challenge in creating interactive video conferences, as they needed to randomly place participants in front of a camera without complex multi-camera setups. They also required a component to detect a speaker's position in real-time and transmit that spatial data. *instinctools was engaged to develop this solution.

*instinctools implemented a software solution using a special microphone to record spatial audio. They built a custom algorithm using FFT, Convolution, and OpenCV library, among others, to process the audio, detect the loudest sound source, and calculate its direction vector. This was then embedded into the video stream. The resulting app allowed the customer to take the lead in the local market of VR audio solutions.
