Truckee Donner Integrates BI Across Multiple, Disparate Systems

Truckee Donner Public Utility District is a non‑profit, publicly owned electric and water utility serving Truckee, California that needed to meet strict California reporting and inspection requirements—documenting the “who, what, when, where, why, and how” of maintenance—while pulling and presenting data quickly from multiple, disparate systems. To meet tight deadlines and keep costs low, the district evaluated BI options and selected insightsoftware’s Logi Analytics for its web‑based, intuitive, low‑code approach and ability to connect to varied data sources.

Using insightsoftware’s Logi Analytics, Truckee Donner built a unified, browser‑based BI solution that integrates GIS, GPS, BPM and multiple databases (Oracle, MySQL, Access, Excel) to automate inspection records, reporting, mapping and work‑order assignment. The system was developed and deployed in four weeks by a single developer; custom report generation dropped from 1–2 hours to mere minutes, saving roughly a month of developer work, while configuration changes now take under an hour—enabling faster regulatory response, improved crew routing and broader reuse across vegetation management, meter replacement, leak repair and outage assessments.
