La Capitale, a Canadian finance and insurance company, struggled with an Excel-based, labor-intensive consolidation and monthly reporting process that caused data integrity issues and left little time for analysis. After a failed move to Hyperion, La Capitale continued with Longview from insightsoftware to address recurring manual inputs, Excel formula errors and inefficient data collection across their finance function.
insightsoftware implemented Longview consolidation, aligning data structures with PeopleSoft and supporting proportionate consolidation, IFRS, intercompany eliminations and recurring/calculated journal entries. The Longview solution created a centralized repository — a “one version of truth” — which improved data integrity, reduced manual processing and freed finance staff to spend more time on analysis, streamlining the overall consolidation process.
