Commerz Real AG, a Commerzbank group asset manager with €34 billion in assets, faced fragmented and heterogeneous reporting requirements across its service areas and needed standardized, transparent risk and management reporting aligned to group standards. insightsoftware (using the IDL product suite, notably IDL Konsis along with IDL Cockpit and IDL Importer) was engaged to consolidate reporting, build a risk data warehouse and provide a flexible platform for ad-hoc analysis.

insightsoftware implemented a phased solution—integrating IDL Konsis with IBM Cognos TM1, Microsoft SQL Server and multiple data sources (SAP, Excel, CSV and in‑house systems)—delivering the first management report in December 2010 and moving to monthly reporting from 2011. The deployment standardized and accelerated risk reporting, consolidated data, improved data quality and control, increased transparency on key risk drivers, and boosted efficiency across management and service divisions, enabling Commerz Real to respond more flexibly to regulatory requirements.
