DRDGOLD Modernises Financial Reporting Processes with Certent CDM

DRDGOLD Limited, one of South Africa’s oldest gold mining companies and an ADR issuer on the NYSE, faced a manual, error-prone financial reporting process—preparing numbers in Excel and retyping them into Word—just as SEC and South African iXBRL/XBRL mandates made tagged filings mandatory. To modernise and automate reporting and tagging, DRDGOLD selected insightsoftware’s Certent Disclosure Management (Certent CDM).

insightsoftware implemented Certent CDM (with local partner iOCO) to automate data pulls, build the Form 20‑F and other filings, apply the required SEC and CIPC taxonomies, and produce filing‑ready output; DRDGOLD filed its first 20‑F through the platform on 31 October 2018 with XBRL filed in November 2018. The outcome was elimination of the previous 1–2 day external EDGAR conversion, near‑instant report generation, fewer rekeying errors, lower costs, and freed-up finance time to focus on narrative and roll CDM out to interim and ad‑hoc reports.
