Boston College University Libraries Revolutionize Access and Distribution Through Mobile Devices

Boston College University Libraries needed to revolutionize access and distribution of library services through mobile devices, providing interactive, self-service reporting and personalized information to thousands of users across campus. After evaluating BI options, Boston College selected insightsoftware’s Logi Analytics (Logi Mobile) to meet mobile BI needs, integrate data from three Oracle applications, and affordably serve a large user base.

Using Logi Analytics from insightsoftware, Boston College built mobile apps in about two months with one developer — a student-facing app for account info, catalog search, holds and study-room booking, plus an iPad app for librarians to manage reshelving lists — with mobile menus, interactive reports and personalized views. The deployment now reaches more than 14,000 students, 120 librarians and 1,000 faculty, increased study-room utilization, and delivers secure, cross-device access without app-store distribution, demonstrating rapid implementation and measurable gains in service reach and user convenience.
