Software and Supply Chain Solutions Company Achieves IT Modernization and Cloud Transformation With Microsoft Azure

Software and Supply Chain Solutions Company, a global software and supply chain management and consulting firm serving more than 4,000 corporate customers, needed to modernize aging infrastructure and move off a data center lease that housed more than 5,000 virtual machines. The company also wanted to optimize its environment for Microsoft Azure and reduce ongoing infrastructure and operational costs. Vendor Insight supported the effort through its Cloud + Data Center Transformation (CDCT) services, including assessment, strategy, migration, and support.

Insight performed a SnapStart assessment, built a detailed exit strategy and Azure architecture, and created a phased migration roadmap with 24/7 migration factory support. The project included application and server mapping, PaaS/SaaS recommendations, and decommissioning of legacy systems, including 19 physical boxes. As a result, Software and Supply Chain Solutions Company retired about 1,500 servers in phase one and was on track to migrate nearly 3,000 servers to Azure, reducing complexity, retiring end-of-life infrastructure, and accelerating its cloud transformation.
