A Insight Case Study
Liquid Handling Company, a leading provider of temporary liquid handling solutions across the U.S. and Canada, needed help modernizing a complex, inefficient legacy network and moving its servers to AWS. The company’s aging MPLS-based infrastructure was creating security, cost, and bandwidth issues, especially across dozens of branches and several remote sites, and it could no longer maintain a network engineer on staff. Insight supported the effort with cloud migration strategic and technical support, network discovery and remediation, and server consolidation.
Insight used its SnapStart discovery engine to assess the environment, consolidate servers from 53 to 33, and migrate Citrix VDI, NetScaler Beam, and SQL workloads to AWS over about three months. Insight also upgraded networking with Meraki MX64 routers, IPSec tunnels to AWS, and a shift from MPLS to owned IP addresses, while providing managed services and AWS cost optimization support. As a result, Liquid Handling Company gained lower costs, stronger security, improved connectivity, better visibility into cloud spend, and a more manageable, updated infrastructure.
