Large Oil and Gas Producer Transforms Its Data Recovery and Management Services

Large Oil and Gas Producer, an oil and natural gas company headquartered in the western United States, needed to reduce data recovery exposure and meet new state and federal requirements. Its existing DR site could not support required recovery time and recovery point objectives, and while data was already being replicated to the cloud, the company lacked a suitable disaster recovery destination. Insight’s CDCT team was brought in to help address these challenges, using consulting services, project management, data center relocation, and the SnapStart discovery tool.

Insight designed and executed a move to a colocated data center and implemented new DR and data management systems, including HPE SimpliVity, Microsoft E5 security tools, Imperva for structured data discovery, and Azure Information Protection. The project covered 208 VMs, 52 workloads, 3 physical servers, and more than 300 TB of data. As a result, Large Oil and Gas Producer improved recovery readiness, met internal and external DR standards, strengthened governance and security, and gained a foundation for broader digital transformation.
