Land Rover BAR, the British sailing team led by Sir Ben Ainslie, needed an IT foundation that could match the agility, reliability, and speed required to compete for the America’s Cup. Working with Insight, the team looked for a way to support real-time performance data, collaboration, and core applications such as VMware, SQL, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft SharePoint.

Insight implemented a VCE VxRail hyper-converged infrastructure appliance to deliver a compact, high-performance platform with VMware vSphere, Virtual SAN, EMC storage, RecoverPoint, Avamar, and Isilon. The result was improved performance and collaboration, reduced risk to critical applications and data, and dramatically faster deployment—moving from cardboard boxes to a full setup in under a day and spinning up vital VMs in less than 15 minutes.
