Cumberland Farms, a retail convenience and gasoline operator with more than 600 stores across the Northeast and Florida, faced major visibility problems when search engines and GPS databases failed to reflect its full footprint. Cumberland Farms engaged inSegment to perform a Local Search and Navigation Integration, updating listings and geographic data so customers could find and navigate to stores.
inSegment compiled an accurate database of all locations, GPS coordinates and service features, and pushed that data to Google, Bing, FourSquare, Yahoo Local, Yellow Pages and major GPS manufacturers (TeleType, NAVIGON, TOMTOM, GARMIN, telenav, MAGELLAN). As a result, all 600 Cumberland Farms stores are now correctly catalogued and discoverable — customers can pinpoint nearby stores via major search engines and navigate to them using leading GPS devices.
