The Västra Götaland Region (VGR), a major Swedish public organization, faced a challenge with inefficient, manual invoice processing that burdened its healthcare staff with administrative work. Seeking to digitalize and refine these processes, VGR turned to InRule for its process automation platform, which was selected for its flexibility and ability to be adapted to the organization's specific way of working.

InRule implemented a solution that integrated its process automation platform with robotic process automation (RPA) to fully automate invoice management. The solution automatically registers and processes invoices, eliminating manual data entry and creating visibility into bottlenecks. While concrete metrics are not yet available due to the project's newness, the results include significant time savings, a shift towards more value-creating work, and a newfound maturity within the organization where staff now actively request new processes to automate.
