Allscripts Powers Proprietary “hub” Platform With Inrule®

Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. is a leading provider of practice management, EHR, patient engagement, care coordination, and financial/analytics technology for healthcare organizations. To modernize its back-office application for enriching EHR data and processing transactions, Allscripts needed to replace maintenance-heavy ASP scripts, custom code, and BizTalk with a more flexible, cloud-based approach that could interact with multiple databases and let non-technical users manage business rules.

Allscripts implemented InRule in its new “Hub” platform to handle data validation, enrichment, and business rule management across multiple databases and external partners. With InRule, Allscripts now supports roughly 560 custom rule applications managed by 11 business users, processes about 1 million transactions per day, and sends around 70 messages per second. The solution reduced reliance on custom code, improved speed and scalability, and enabled rule execution in about 1,000 milliseconds.
