Alabama Department of Public Health Beats Deadline and Launches Medicaid Eligibility Platform With Inrule®
The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) needed to quickly launch an online Medicaid eligibility website to meet Affordable Care Act requirements and comply with seven MITA standards. With less than a year to build a system that could evaluate complex eligibility rules and family information, ADPH turned to InRule and its business rules management system (BRMS).
InRule integrated its BRMS into ADPH’s Medicaid eligibility portal to validate user data, apply thousands of business rules, and connect with federal systems such as Homeland Security and Social Security for additional checks. The solution helped ADPH meet the October 1, 2013 deadline and achieve ACA and MITA compliance, while also delivering a flexible, intuitive platform with strong support from InRule.
