Case Study: Skycomp achieves broader, validated traffic and origin-destination analysis with INRIX Trips

Skycomp and INRIX join forces to bring greater breadth and depth for traffic and origin destination analysis

Skycomp, a traffic planning and data analysis company, needed a way to validate and enrich large-scale origin-destination and traffic surveys with more granular, site-specific insight. Working with INRIX, Skycomp used INRIX Trips alongside its Time-Lapse Aerial Photography (TLAP) to help municipalities and transportation agencies assess traffic patterns, validate survey results, and confirm whether market penetration was sufficient for representative analysis.

INRIX’s Trips data provided broad geographic reach across large study areas, while Skycomp’s TLAP and ground-camera counts supplied validation at selected sites and added detail where big data alone was not enough. The combined approach supported studies such as heavy truck movements in Rhode Island and an origin-destination survey for the Connecticut Department of Transportation, where TLAP validation gave confidence to expand analysis using INRIX Trips across the full survey area and time periods.
