Würth svenska ab leads the group in online sales thanks to efficient PIM

Wurth, a leading Swedish wholesaler of assembly and fastening materials, faced a complex product-information challenge: producing a main catalogue that reflected customers’ view, managing 34,000 SKUs across 6,500 products with detailed technical data, and integrating product data with their ERP and website CMS to enable ecommerce. To solve this they selected Inriver’s PIM platform (inRiver 4.6, later upgraded to inRiver 6.1) to simplify and standardize their product structure and catalog production.

Inriver implemented a clear data model and automated web integration feeding the EPiServer CMS, enabling a responsive ecommerce site, ERP “punch-out” ordering, and a single repository for accurate product information. As a result Wurth became the group leader in online sales: new products can be live and orderable in two hours, customers can order 10× more products online than via the paper catalog, and sales reps are freed to focus on high-value accounts.
