SAIL, a 40‑year‑old Canadian outdoor retailer with 10 showrooms and the Sportium concept, faced a poor web experience and slow, manual product publishing that limited its online assortment to 3,000–4,000 items. To centralize and speed up product information across digital, print and in‑store channels, SAIL selected the inRiver PIM platform (implemented with partner Absolunet).

inRiver delivered a centralized PIM that made rich product content and graphics available across channels, cutting time‑to‑market from weeks to hours or overnight and enabling management of over 20,000 products online. The launch of 8,000 products was delivered on‑time and under budget; website traffic rose an average 30% (peaks 45–50%) and organic traffic increased 25%, and SAIL is now rolling out another 15,000 sports products using inRiver.
