A Inriver Case Study
AkzoNobel, a global paints and coatings company, faced a significant challenge with fragmented data governance across its diverse business units. With no centralized system, product information was managed inconsistently, creating operational risk and slowing down the creation of accurate technical documentation for customers. To address this, AkzoNobel partnered with vendor Inriver to implement its Product Information Management (PIM) solution, aiming to create a single source of truth for its data.
Working with implementation partner Ctac, Inriver helped deploy a centralized and scalable PIM solution that integrated with AkzoNobel's numerous legacy systems. The results included a successful first business unit deployment within three months and a clear roadmap to consolidate approximately 25 ERP systems down to just four or five. The Inriver solution enabled faster, more accurate creation of technical datasheets and established a unified governance framework, setting the company on a path toward a reliable single source of truth for all technical data.
