Case Study: University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign achieves cleaner energy and sustainable solar development with Inovateus Solar

A Inovateus Solar Case Study

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign builds Solar Farm 2.0 with Inovateus Solar, diverting 45 tons of waste

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign contracted with Sol Systems to build a 12.3 MWdc solar farm to meet its clean energy commitments. To construct this eco-friendly project, Sol Systems partnered with the EPC firm Inovateus Solar for its sustainable engineering, construction, and procurement services.

Inovateus Solar designed the solar farm with bifacial panels and single-axis trackers to maximize energy production. Their sustainable solution included planting a pollinator-friendly habitat with 6.5 million plants and achieving nearly zero waste construction by recycling 94% of materials, preventing 45 tons of landfill waste. The project served as a marquee example for the state and provided student fellowships to assess its carbon footprint for future sustainability improvements.
