Innovolt Reduces Service Costs and Increases Vending Machine Uptime and Revenue for Southern Refreshments Services

Innovolt partnered with Southern Refreshment Services to address rising service calls, downtime and spoilage in a mixed fleet of vending machines that Southern suspected were being driven by power anomalies (Electrical Over Stress). Southern needed a way to verify EOS, reduce service costs, and demonstrate to customers when power—rather than equipment—was the root cause.

Innovolt installed its power protection across varied refrigerated and snack machines and ran a 13‑week controlled trial; power data confirmed EOS disturbances across the fleet. The trial delivered a 42% relative reduction in service calls (from 18 to 10), roughly 2–3 fewer service calls per machine per year, increased uptime and revenue, and prompted Southern to implement Innovolt’s technology broadly.
