Web Decisions Drives Marketing Data Faster with CoSort

Web Decisions, a provider of multichannel marketing solutions running the 360i eMarketing system, needed a sort utility that could process millions of records with near real-time speed and be easily invoked from backend batch scripts. They selected Innovative Routines International (IRI)’s CoSORT product, specifically the SortCL sort control language, because it delivered the required performance and a command-line interface that could be integrated into Windows .bat batch processes.

IRI’s CoSORT SortCL was implemented to join, filter, sort, translate, aggregate and reformat very large files in single passes, and IRI supplied workaround scripts and released CoSORT 8.1 to address Microsoft CSV quirks. The result was substantially faster processing of millions of records, seamless batch integration, and reduced development effort—saving Web Decisions weeks or even months of proprietary programming time—along with ongoing support from Innovative Routines International (IRI).
