A Innovative Routines International (IRI) Case Study
Mereo, a Paris-based provider of revenue optimization and business intelligence for media and leisure clients, faced the challenge of daily batch-processing large volumes of customer sales and traffic data across Unix, Linux and Windows platforms to feed its Revenue Manager module and reach BI generation quickly. To meet these needs Mereo adopted Innovative Routines International (IRI)’s CoSort solution, using the CoSort SortCL program as its ETL engine to transform, remap and aggregate datasets into output files in the ~60GB range.
IRI delivered the CoSort package and SortCL runtime, which Mereo licenses for development and embeds in its applications; the team uses Select, Join, Sort, Merge and Aggregate operations serialized across jobs to achieve rapid transformations. The result is dramatically faster, cross-platform ETL with low-cost development licenses, clear documentation and responsive local support from IRI—enabling Mereo to accelerate time-to-BI, reliably produce daily 60GB outputs, and simplify distribution of the ETL engine within its solutions.
