A Innovaccer Case Study
Inpatient EHRs faced significant integration and interoperability challenges after large-scale inpatient EHR implementations: customized installs, proprietary extensions that break standard CCDA, limited connectivity with ambulatory sites, and difficulty aggregating and harmonizing data for population health. To address these issues, Innovaccer deployed its Data Activation Platform to bridge disparate systems and overcome vendor lock and non‑interoperability.
Innovaccer’s Data Activation Platform ingests and normalizes multiple feed types (FHIR ADT, CCDA, 837/835, flat files/CSV, etc.), offers pre-built connectors to more than 60 widely used EHR systems, and uses a push-based, bi-directional exchange (HISP/HL7/FHIR) to deliver transformed data back to EHRs. The platform’s modular, drag‑and‑drop architecture improves data quality (fill‑rate checks, anomaly alerts, and transformations), restores two‑way interoperability, and enables seamless connectivity across sites — backed by Innovaccer’s broader deployment across 500+ locations supporting over 10,000 providers.
