Case Study: New York State Workers' Compensation Board achieves streamlined request management and same-day reporting with Innotas

A Innotas Case Study

Preview of the The New York State Workers Case Study

Putting structure around an existing governance process while improving reporting

The New York State Workers’ Compensation Board, a state agency of more than 1,500 employees with 11 district offices, relied on a hybrid PMO to support its governance process but lacked a tool to enforce, monitor, and report on project and investment requests. Requests were tracked in Word and Excel, leading to errors, duplicates, poor portfolio visibility, and executive reporting that could take weeks to prepare.

The PMO selected Innotas’ cloud-based PPM SaaS—offering easy deployment, dashboards, real-time reporting, and a dedicated engagement manager—to formalize the governance process. As a result, request and portfolio management were significantly streamlined, reporting time dropped from weeks to under a day, prioritization and budgeting improved, resource decisions became data-driven, and the approach served as a best-practice example for other state agencies.
