Innotas Helps King County Improve IT Project Prioritization and Selection Process

King County, Washington — home to 2.04 million residents and roughly 13,000 employees — needed a better way for its Department of Information Technology (KCIT) to manage and prioritize an average of 85+ active IT projects (about $250M). KCIT’s service-based reorganization and Project Review Board exposed limitations of a custom, unsupported PPM system that made reporting difficult, provided low visibility into application metadata, and required significant developer effort to generate actionable portfolio information.

KCIT selected Innotas’ cloud-based PPM for its rapid deployment, built-in report writer, and application portfolio capabilities. Implementation created a single source of truth, streamlined business-case submission and governance, improved transparency and quick identification of at-risk projects, and standardized application metadata to reduce operational complexity.
