FLSmidth is building the foundation for a cloud-based journey with Innofactor VDC

FLSmidth, a global engineering company serving the mining and cement industries, faced challenges with governance and security after migrating 90% of its servers to the cloud using a lift-and-shift strategy. To build a controlled, secure foundation for its cloud journey and support its sustainability goals, the company partnered with vendor Innofactor.

Innofactor implemented its Virtual Data Center (VDC) product to create the new Opus platform. This provided FLSmidth with a modern, code-based infrastructure that improved governance, security, and cost control. The solution, built on Microsoft best practices, is estimated to cost 80% less and be implemented 5-6 times faster than building from scratch, establishing a foundation for the company to become more data-driven.
