Case Study: Torkinmäki School improves student self-assessment with Innofactor Skilli Learning Analytics

The Torkinmäki School faced a challenge in modernizing its educational approach, transitioning from a teacher-led model to one that is more student-centric. This shift required new tools to facilitate continuous learning assessment and to encourage students to actively reflect on their own progress and the development of their 21st-century skills. To address this need, they partnered with the vendor Innofactor to implement the Innofactor Skilli Learning Analytics solution.

Innofactor developed a digital tool for continuous assessment and student self-evaluations. The solution provided teachers, like Piia Martikainen, with a quick feedback loop, offering immediate visibility into each student's self-assessed comprehension and enjoyment of the lessons. This enabled educators to quickly identify topics needing review. The tool also significantly improved students' self-assessment abilities and fostered a much greater number of productive, personal discussions between the teacher and her students about their learning journey.
