The Helsinki Region Scouts, also known as the Metropolitan Area Scouts, faced the challenge of effectively monitoring the consumption of resources like water and electricity at their large Kliffa district camping event, which hosted over 5,500 participants. To address this, they partnered with vendor Innofactor to implement an IoT system.

Innofactor's solution collected real-time consumption data via various gauges and stored it in the Microsoft Azure cloud for analysis with Microsoft Power BI. This provided clear, visual reports on usage and infrastructure status. The results enabled the development of more sustainable camping practices and provided valuable data for calculating the event's carbon footprint as part of their educational mission.
