Radio Alarm, a classic-style radio and alarm clock app managed by Ensight Media, was well-known in the US, Japan and Europe but had limited traction in Korea. The challenge was to raise brand awareness and drive downloads of the free trial (as a gateway to paid conversions) among Korean iPhone users aged 20–50.
InMobi created Korea’s first rich-media expandable iOS ad using the iPhone accelerometer—users shook their phones to interact and see a demo of the app—targeting specific segments and optimizing for downloads. The campaign drove a CTR of 2, increased download rate by 26%, boosted sales by 75%, and helped Radio Alarm reach #1 among paid apps in iTunes Korea.
