Case Study: TNL Umweltplanung achieves transparent resource and capacity planning for streamlined proposals with InLoox

Project and resource management at an environmental planning service provider

TNL Umweltplanung, an independent environmental planning and consulting firm that recently grew from 50 to 100 employees, needed to restructure its offer preparation and resource planning to replace ad‑hoc “gut” decisions with transparent, scalable processes. To meet this challenge it adopted InLoox’s project and resource planning solution integrated with Microsoft Outlook to map cross‑departmental tasks and plan capacity across locations.

InLoox implemented a scalable, Outlook‑integrated solution with Kanban boards and resource planning so managers can allocate people to work packages and forecast capacity; about 70 users now manage roughly 140 concurrent projects and—on very large bids—up to 75% of staff may be assigned. As a result, TNL Umweltplanung now has a transparent overview of workloads and departments, more transparent proposal decisions, reduced avoidable overtime and peak overloads, and improved vacation and controlling processes.
