5280 Solutions, part of Nelnet, is an award-winning provider of IT products and business automation that supports government student loan software. When updating its loan application the team needed to retire a homegrown/Ektron CMS in favor of a non‑invasive content-as-a-service solution that could deliver client-specific content with better permission controls and improved performance without adding processing overhead to existing HTTP requests.

They implemented Ingeniux CMS, publishing content as XML from an authoring server and exposing it to the app via installed DLLs and the Ingeniux API (accessed through Ajax). The demo and initial setup were completed in hours, enabling local-file delivery (eliminating caching delays), real-time updates, and simpler content management; adoption has grown from several authors to plans for marketing users and client access, with multiple sites migrating off Ektron.
