A Ingenico Group Case Study
Batteries Plus Bulbs, the nation’s first, largest and fastest-growing battery, light bulb, and device repair franchise, needed to upgrade its payment technology ahead of EMV while also supporting debit and contactless payments, improving security, reducing PCI scope, and creating in-store upsell opportunities. The company chose Ingenico Group and its iSC 480 Touch smart terminals to meet those needs across its 700-store network.
Ingenico Group implemented smart terminals that accepted EMV chip cards, debit cards, and NFC/contactless payments like Apple Pay, while large touchscreen displays enabled banner ads for cross-selling at checkout. The result was lower transaction fees from debit acceptance, enhanced payment security through third-party P2PE integration, improved customer experience, and reduced PCI scope, all while increasing opportunities to promote other products and services.
