Dot It Tunisia needed a user-friendly in-flight duty free payment and catalogue solution for airline crews who are constantly traveling and hard to train. The challenge was to give flight attendants a simple, reliable tool for browsing products, managing stock, and taking payments onboard, while meeting the constraints of aircraft operations. Dot It Tunisia used an Ingenico Group smart mobile POS solution combining an Ingenico terminal with an iPod touch device and an iOS sales catalogue application.
Ingenico Group helped implement an offline/online system with automatic data synchronization before and after flights, barcode-based product search, secure card handling, and a modular catalogue with product details, pricing, and images. The result was faster transactions processed in a few seconds, better stock management, and more time for crew to serve passengers, helping airlines increase sales opportunities and improve the onboard customer experience.
