A Ingenico Group Case Study
American Apparel, the Los Angeles-based clothing retailer with more than 260 stores worldwide, needed to upgrade its payment technology ahead of the EMV liability shift. The company wanted to add chip-card acceptance across its U.S. stores while also supporting mobile wallets, improving payment security, reducing PCI scope, and creating a more seamless in-store experience for its largely millennial customer base.
Ingenico Group, working with Index, implemented EMV and NFC-enabled iSC Touch 250 smart terminals with retail POS software and P2PE support. The solution enabled American Apparel to accept EMV, contactless, and card payments, improve security, reduce PCI compliance scope, and deliver branded checkout, e-receipts, and marketing features. Ingenico Group’s technology also gave the retailer processor flexibility and remote terminal management, helping enhance both operational efficiency and customer engagement.
