SANS Technology uses Infrascale’s Data Protection Solution to Transform Backup for Customers

SANS Technology, a provider of enterprise data storage and backup solutions, was tasked with replacing a failing tape-based system for a large Maryland government agency that needed to protect 150 TB across 80 physical and virtual servers and support Windows, Novell, Solaris and Linux while meeting NIST data-retention requirements. The agency required an enterprise-grade solution with advanced deduplication and replication that could be deployed with minimal IT overhead.

SANS deployed Infrascale’s integrated on‑premises appliance with replication to a virtual appliance hosted in SANS’s compliant data center, delivering snapshot-based VM backups, advanced deduplication, and turnkey management. The deployment tripled backup speed, reduced hardware, software, maintenance and staffing costs, enabled the agency to meet RTO/RPO and compliance objectives, and replaced fragile tape workflows with simple, reliable push‑button recovery.
