A Infovista Case Study
KBC, an integrated bank‑insurance group serving about 3.5 million customers with 36,777 employees, faced the challenge of rolling out Skype for Business and Microsoft Office 365 to 15,000 users while embracing BYOD, protecting business‑critical banking and VoIP traffic, improving troubleshooting, and reducing telecom costs. To achieve optimal Quality of Experience and support widespread Wi‑Fi access without impacting critical applications, KBC engaged Infovista and its Ipanema solution for network performance orchestration.
Infovista deployed Ipanema across KBC’s 827 branches and insurance agents to prioritize applications, enable BYOD safely, and provide actionable network and application visibility. The outcome included strong Skype adoption (140,000 P2P sessions/week and conferences rising from 92 to 3,700/week), deployment times cut from 2 years to 6 months, 20% fewer landline extensions, avoided bandwidth upgrades, 7 million km of travel saved and 4,900 tele-workers (86,000 teleworking days) in 2013, plus faster, more proactive troubleshooting and protected VoIP and bank transactions.
