How a dynamic, high performance hybrid network is helping the SEB Group achieve strong growth

Groupe SEB, the global leader in small appliances with more than 25,800 employees and operations in 150+ countries, faced the challenge of supporting rapid international growth, integrating new subsidiaries in emerging markets, and rolling out bandwidth‑heavy applications (PLM, Skype for Business, big data and video) while keeping telecom costs down and dealing with limited local telecom performance. To meet these goals they partnered with Infovista and selected the Ipanema SD‑WAN/Ipanema solution to deliver consistent application performance across a hybrid MPLS/Internet network.

Infovista implemented Ipanema across the SEB network (around 100 connected sites), providing centralized SLA‑based application control and dynamic hybrid routing; the result was seamless Skype for Business rollout with zero impact on ERP/PLM, easier detection and resolution of performance issues, and the ability to handle a fivefold traffic increase without raising expenditure. Infovista’s Ipanema now routes roughly 30% of critical traffic over MPLS and 70% over Internet, cutting telecom and travel costs, improving reliability and operational ease, and giving Groupe SEB the flexibility to migrate services to the cloud.
