Case Study: Universal Music Group achieves future-proof global network performance and cost savings with Infovista

A Infovista Case Study

Preview of the Universal Music Group Case Study

Global expertise delivers world-class network management

Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s leading music company with about 9,000 staff in 71 countries and distribution in 77 territories, needed to transform its telecom and network operations to support rapid market change, protect digital rights, combat piracy and enable growth into emerging markets. To address this, UMG engaged Infovista for managed network services, including MPLS IP VPN, network optimization (application prioritization), Asia‑Pacific hosting and managed backup/SAN storage, migration of the majority of traffic to a global business voice platform, and IP telephony upgrades.

Infovista implemented a single, secure global network for voice, video and data, optimized application performance and enabled cloud services and enhanced remote access, while migrating roughly 76% of UMG’s network traffic to the new platform. The solution delivered measurable cost reductions through utility‑based pricing, improved network and application performance, scalable support for expansion into emerging markets and smoother integration of acquisitions — future‑proofing UMG’s communications infrastructure and supporting its strategic growth.
