Case Study: University of Auckland achieves hands-on market research training and actionable nonprofit insights with Infotools

A Infotools Case Study

Preview of the University of Auckland Case Study

How one unique partnership is helping move the market research industry forward

The University of Auckland Business School teamed with Infotools to tackle two linked challenges: preparing the next generation of market researchers for a fast-changing industry and delivering affordable, actionable research to under-resourced nonprofits. To give students hands-on experience, the program integrated Infotools’ cloud-based analysis and visualization platform, Harmoni, into its advanced marketing research curriculum.

Infotools provided Harmoni free to 50–60 third-year students who, over an intensive 12‑week, industry‑mentored project for the New Zealand Housing Foundation (with Dynata managing data collection), produced actionable insights on awareness, housing needs and segmentations. The work delivered measurable impact—data the Housing Foundation will use to shape services and outreach—while boosting student engagement, practical skills and a replicable university–industry model that highlights Infotools’ role in driving real-world outcomes.
