A Information Transport Solutions Case Study

Preview of the State of Oregon Case Study

State Government Improves Delivery of Services to Agencies

The State of Oregon worked with Information Transport Solutions to support a major Computing and Networking Infrastructure Consolidation initiative across its 12 largest agencies. The challenge was to consolidate aging information infrastructures, improve network manageability, and build a foundation for future shared services such as secure WAN connectivity and voice.

Information Transport Solutions helped implement a Cisco-based solution that expanded the state’s MPLS network, upgraded the data center with Cisco Catalyst switches, and deployed Cisco 2811 Integrated Services Routers and related Cisco communications tools. The result was smoother migration of roughly 400 locations with little to no disruption, simplified network operations, and more than $500,000 saved in audio conferencing costs through VoIP.
