Case Study: Montgomery County Community College achieves flexible, interactive learning with Information Transport Solutions and SMART Board technology

Integration of SMART Products helps Build Flexible Learning Environments

Montgomery County Community College (MCCC), a multi-campus college in Blue Bell and Pottstown, Pennsylvania, wanted to create more flexible learning environments by integrating interactive whiteboards with third-party software and its course-management system. Working with Information Transport Solutions, the college aimed to support different learning styles and improve the way faculty delivered instruction across distance education and traditional classrooms.

Information Transport Solutions helped implement SMART Board interactive whiteboards and Sympodium interactive pen displays, along with supporting software integration such as Notebook, Blackboard Academic Suite, and other third-party tools. The result was a more dynamic, interactive learning experience: MCCC expanded to nearly 110 SMART Boards across campus, students could participate in real time from remote sites, and instructors could save and share lecture materials online. The college reported that students found it easier to understand abstract concepts and pursue their studies with the help of the new technologies.
