A Information Builders Case Study
Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC), one of North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealers, needed to modernize slow, error-prone B2B exchanges—purchase orders, parts catalogs and invoices—that relied on flat files, FTP and manual rekeying with suppliers like Caterpillar. The goal was to eliminate manual steps, improve accuracy and get real-time visibility into parts availability across a multistate dealer network.
MHC implemented iWay’s EAI suite (adapters for DB2/400, X12, HTTPS, and more) and used xCBL/XML over HTTPS with iWay consulting to automate document exchange. The first integration went from prototype to production in about 10 days, turning supplier inventory into an extension of MHC’s system, eliminating rekeying and long status calls, speeding order fulfillment, and enabling additional automated invoicing and electronic catalog projects that deliver faster service and measurable ROI.
