Worldpay Obtains Big Payback on Big Data Analytics

Worldpay, a Cincinnati-based payment processing and technology provider with about 3,300 employees and $1.68 billion in annual revenue, needed modern reporting, dashboards and analytics to exploit a growing Hadoop data lake and support complex customer pricing across ~800,000 merchants and billions of transactions.

Using Information Builders’ WebFOCUS platform (with InfoAssist, Portal, InfoApps and iWay integration), Worldpay built a merchant portal, self-service InfoApps and write-back pricing tools. The deployment replaced thousands of legacy reports (about 27,000) with a small set of WebFOCUS assets, delivered a payback in 12 months, cut paper-statement costs by $2.5M, boosted annual revenue $8–15M through smarter pricing, and dramatically improved big-data cost and processing performance.
